are slow cookers the same as crockpots?

I had gotten a slow cooker with some waterless cookware and it said slow cooker. I am afraid to leave it on when I am not there. It is made of steel and not a crock like a crock pot.

yeah pretty much the same. I cook my stuff on the low setting for up to 10 hours.Just leave enough liquid cause there will be some evaporation and you want to keep the food moist. My pot roasts are so tender they fall apart.
