HELP HEAD LICE WONT GO AWAY!?
my family and i have had hair lice for 5years now, we have tried everything!!!! lotions, tea tree oil, removing linen etc. its embarrassing for us and i am so dam sick of having them, i cant go to the hairdresser because they don't work on infected hair. my little sister is 6 and doesn't know what life is like without it, she thinks it is normal. i am 15 and i am consistently self conscious if anyone can see my nits.
is there anything we can buy that makes them go straight away?
p.s mum only buys natural lotions not chemicals.
don't think we are a bad family we try as hard as we can, i feel sorry for my mum how much effort shes doing to try and get rid of them.
I am absolutely astonished and slightly disturbed at the incredibly misinformed advice being given for this question. Don't go shaving your heads or anything like that.
The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations.
Your mum is right to want to stay away from chemical head lice treatments. It is great you feel that she is doing a good job, she really is. Before you listen to anyone advising you to use a pesticide treatment please consider the following:
No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison.
Luckily there are quite a few totally natural remedies available that readily kill head lice.
Suffocation is an effective method where oil based products (i.e.: mayonnaise) are used to block the breathing holes and kill the live lice. The real trick though is to find natural products that will kill both the live lice and their eggs in one fast effective treatment.
Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem’s insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.
