How do you remove a oil drain plug from a car?
i have a 2004 chevy malibu that i want to change the oil on. i know where the oil drain plug is but i can never seem to remove it with a ratchet or air compressor tools because it seems as though it is rusted to the engine. This is the first time i will change my oil.... I usually take it to a shop to have it done, but i want to save a little cash... any suggestions on how to get the oil out? How does a shop remove the cap?
It's just tight. You can't break it with an air wrench? Get a hollow pipe to put over the socket handle for leverage and turn. It HAS to come loose.
