What is minimum time wastewater needs for nitrification in aquarium filter?
Canister filters devote a lot of media space for zeolites or ceramic balls which promote nitrifiying bacteria. It is a good concept, but does the wastewater stay in the filter long enough to be nitrified? At 100 gph, it doesn't give bacteria long to work.
It the flow rate that will cause it to work.
as long as the toxins are lower than what is going in it will work over time
